Bell times
Children may come to school any time between 8:40am and 9:00am. The bell rings at:
- 8:40am: Morning play commences and staff supervision.
- 9:00am: End of play. Move to lines or classroom.
- 9:05am: Commencement of morning session.
- 11:05am: Recess.
- 11:20am: End of play. Move to lines or classroom.
- 11:25am: Start of middle session
- 1:05pm: First half lunch
- 1:30pm: Second half lunch
- 1:50pm: End of lunch, move to lines
- 1:55pm: Start of afternoon session
- 3:05pm: Home time
Assembly
School Assemblies are held every second Friday at 2:30pm. Usually a different class will present an item or display some work they have recently completed as part of our assembly. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend if they wish, and invitations are sent to the parents of children who are receiving a Merit Certificate or Principal Award.
Library
Library is held once per week on a Thursday unless otherwise notified. On this day children are strongly encouraged to borrow books to take home. Regular borrowing from the school library is encouraged. Children cannot borrow from the library unless they have a library bag. This protects the books during travel.
Scholastic book club
Children are able to purchase books through the school from Scholastic Book Club. Brochures are sent home monthly. Payment must accompany orders and these are returned to the school office the week after the order brochures have been sent home. Payments can be made online via this webside or EFTPOS, cash or cheque. Cheques must be made payable to Adelong Public School.
